Fast Photonics USA at OFC 2024: Linear Pluggable Optics in the Spotlight

FastPhotonics -Pioneering LPO Optics & US Manufacturing

The 2024 Optical Fiber Communications Conference and Exhibition (OFC) took place over 4 days in March, at the San Diego Convention Center. Yet again, this event proved to be the premier conference for the global communications and optical networks industries.

We were excited to be a part of it all, showcasing Fast Photonics products, networking with key industry players, and discovering new ways to align our product strategies with emerging trends. It was also a great opportunity to sync with our customers and suppliers and find ways to move the industry forward.

The Buzz Around Linear Pluggable Optics & Immersion Cooling

At this year’s OFC, many conversations revolved around immersion cooling and LPO optics. This was ideal for us, because Fast Photonics USA offers products and solutions in both areas. Our immersion cooled products will start to ship this summer, and our LPO products are already available.

American-Made LPO Products by Fast Photonics

Fast Photonics is at the forefront of LPO module technology. Our solutions cater to the demand for high-speed data transmission up to 1.6T, suitable for various formats such as OSFP, QSFP-DD, and QSFP112. These modules provide significant power savings, lower latency, and cost advantages, especially for DSP-less modules critical in AI and High-Performance Computing sectors.

The current lineup includes 400G and 800G versions available for sampling, with an anticipated launch of the 1.6T version by the end of the third quarter in 2024, redefining efficiency and performance benchmarks in essential technology domains.

Made in the USA: Build America, Buy America

OFC 2024 also gave us an opportunity to bring attention to our made-in-the-USA manufacturing strategy. Fast Photonics USA has begun manufacturing cost competitive optical transceivers in Richardson, TX. All of these products meet the requirements of the Build America, Buy America (BABA) Act, and the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program.

By manufacturing our products in America, using American talent, we enable our customers to achieve full compliance with these programs, in addition to faster and more cost effective access to vital components.

The State of the Telecommunications Market: an Optimistic Outlook for 2024

The mood at OFC 2024 was optimistic, and with good reason. The McKinsey report on technology and telecommunications B2B buying trends for 2024 reveals an overall optimistic investment outlook among enterprises, despite potential shifts that could favor some vendors over others. The report, based on a survey with over 3,000 responses, indicates a trend towards increasing spending on security, cloud, and IoT technologies, with large enterprises leading investment growth.

These are all positive signs, and we at Fast Photonics USA are eager to play our part in advancing optical networking and telecommunications for American enterprises.

Fast Photonics USA Leads the Charge in Optical Innovation and American Manufacturing

Our experience at OFC 2024 exceeded our expectations, from our pioneering LPO modules to our strategic American manufacturing initiative. As we look forward to shaping the future of optical networking, we invite industry partners, potential customers, and technology enthusiasts to connect with us.
